Willie is the owner and founder of CrossFit Sierra Nevada. Willie, a Reno, Nevada native dreams to create a friendly encouraging environment for all ages to help them achieve their fitness and health goals. Willie believes health and fitness should be apart of the complete life cycle whether you are three or ninety years old.

Willie graduated from Reno High in 1996 where he participated in baseball, football and wrestling. He attended college at Santa Rosa Junior College where he received an Associates degree in Art. He was a member of the baseball team who rank in the top four both years he attended. He than attended the Saint Mary’s College of California and received his Bachelors Degree in Science with a focus in Psychology. Here he participated as the inside, outside center for the Rugby team. During his time there he won the Back Of The Year award in 2000 and toured with the team to compete in Spain and Fiji.

Willie started training in 2002 at 24 Hour Fitness in San Diego California. Here he received certificates from the National Academy in Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise. He transferred back to the Reno, NV area and continued his growth at 24 Hour Fitness receiving the title of Master Trainer which is the highest recognized level. He continued to get certified by National Council of Strength and Fitness as well as Crossfit.

Willie following his dreams opened up CrossFit Sierra Nevada in 2007, starting with two trainers and twenty clients. He has grown his business to include two hundred clients and seven trainers. He also started a trainer’s internship program for those that share his desire which currently has five up and coming trainers working at the gym. He is involved in many events around the Reno Tahoe area such as the Tough Mudder, Battle of the Rattle, and the Reno Tahoe Odyssey where the team set records for the fastest time down the Gyger Grade run. Willie also competes in the Crossfit games with the hope that one day he will make it to the finals. Willie opened CrossFit Sierra Nevada with the hopes he would connect and inspire people to live a stronger healthier life.
